we recognize the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture.

Sr. José Galvez, Photographer and Speaker will be at the Holyoke Public Library

José Galvez's presentation will cover how he got started in photography, covering the early Chicano Movement and Cesar Chavez and segwaying into more recent national events and how he sees the Latino community moving forward.

For over 40 years José Galvez has photographed the Latino and Mexican
American communities across the United States. His work has been exhibited
in numerous museums, libraries and universities. Most recently he had
solo exhibitions at the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel and
the National Women’s Historical Museum at Seneca Falls.
