Family Fun Day at Celebrate Holyoke Offers Free Activities & Live Entertainment

Celebrate Holyoke will return to Heritage State Park this weekend: Friday August 25, Saturday August 26 and Sunday August 27. 

New this year, Celebrate Holyoke will feature Family Day on Sunday August 27 and will include family friendly musical performances, magic shows, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals and arts and crafts.

This year’s musical lineup features a wide array of music from local and regional artists across a broad range of genres that everyone will love. Sunday’s lineup will feature musical entertainers that will get children and adults of all ages dancing and singing throughout the day:
  • Bomba de Aqui, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
  • Dan Zanes Trio, 2 to 2:45 p.m., 3 to 3:45 p.m.
  • O'Tones, 4:15 to 5:30 p.m.
  • The Basement Cats, 5:45 to 6:30 p.m.
In addition to the musical lineup, Family Fun Day will feature special family-friendly activities and entertainment including: Magician Jeff Kempton, Balloon artist Ed Popielarcyzk, the Pine Hill Farm Petting Zoo, Mask Makers Face Painting, Paper City Art Kids and Learn in Motion. Attendees can also visit and shop at the wide variety of artists, makers and community organizations that will be located throughout Heritage State Park.

Celebrate Holyoke is a three-day festival that made its return in 2015 after a 10 year hiatus, drawing an estimated 12,000 to 15,000 people downtown over the course of the weekend. There is no admission to attend; parking is free on Friday evening and available on Saturday and Sunday for $5 at the Ernest Proulx Municipal Parking Facility on Dwight Street as well as in the William S. Taupier Municipal Parking Facility on Suffolk Street.
