SPARK Celebration Highlights Local Entrepreneurs

SPARK Holyoke, a program of the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce Centennial Foundation, is pleased to invite the community to attend its first annual SPARK Celebration, happening during National Small Business Week on Thursday, May 4 from 5 to 7PM at the Volleyball Hall of Fame, 444 Dwight Street in Holyoke. The event is open to the public and free to attend, with a suggested $5 at the door. All proceeds will go towards SPARK’s efforts in assisting and providing more opportunities for local startups and small businesses.

The event will highlight and showcase the six cohorts of students that have graduated from the SPARK Launch program, which includes over 30 businesses since its launch in spring of 2015. Guests will enjoy delicious food and cash bar while shopping at a special SPARK Graduate Popup Shop.

The evening will culminate with a pitch contest similar to Holyoke soup, where three graduates of the SPARK Launch program will pitch their idea and those in attendance that evening will have a chance to vote for their favorite pitch to win a prize at the end of the evening.

“Holyoke is lucky to have so many talented and passionate entrepreneurs that have launched or are in the process of launching their businesses and we want to celebrate their efforts,” said Tessa Murphy-Romboletti, Program Manager for SPARK, which operates out of the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce at 177 High Street in downtown Holyoke. “Our program can’t be successful without the support of business owners and the community at large. This will be a fun opportunity for people to learn more about our program and how to get involved.”

SPARK is seeking members of the business community to participate as mentors, funding to sustain the program’s efforts and opportunities for collaboration with community partners. Anyone interested in learning more about SPARK is encouraged to visit our website at www.sparkholyoke.com or speak with a team member by calling the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce at 413-534-3376.
