United Veterans of Holyoke 11/11/16 Event


Please join veterans and the Mayor of Holyoke on Friday, November 11 as the United Veterans of Holyoke, located at 310 Appleton Street, honor its award nominees for the year. This year’s recipients are Peter J. McMahon, Veteran of the Year; David R. Beauchemin, Public Safety Award and Ralph B. Webb, Citizen of the Year.

Peter was awarded the Purple Heart for his combat tour in Iraq, served eight years on the Holyoke Fire Department and currently is a Massachusetts State Police Officer out of the Northampton barracks. Ralph, a Vietnam-era vet, served as Executive Chef of the Golden Lemon Restaurant and culinary arts educator at Dean Tech. Ralph established and continues to instruct a 12-week culinary arts program named foodWorks@Kate’s Kitchen. David, a retired Holyoke Police Officer of 33 plus years, recently joined the Holyoke Auxiliary Police in April 2016. Peter and David are lifelong residents of Holyoke, and Ralph has resided in the Holyoke area for over 30 years.

Come celebrate these three deserved recipients!
