Eat Drink & Be Holyoke

The Holyoke Rotary Club is hosting its third annual tasting fundraiser and silent auction, Eat, Drink & Be Holyoke, presented by Holyoke Community College, PeoplesBank, Westfield Bank, Holyoke Gas & Electric, Holyoke Parks and Recreation and United Bank Foundation. The event will take place at Gateway City Arts, 92 Race St, Holyoke, on Thursday, October 6, 2016, 5pm to 8pm.

The event will feature nearly 20 food and beverage tasting stations, a silent auction, and live music. Net proceeds will help fund the Holyoke Rotary Club’s ongoing projects, including funding for their five year, $40,000 commitment pledged to the Kelly School for updating the technology and scholastic materials in K-third grade classrooms.

Local restaurant tasting stations will be available compliments of Amedeo’s Restaurant, Delaney’s Grill/The Mick, Dockside, foodWorks @ Kate’s Kitchen, Hamel’s Summit View, Holyoke Hummus Company, Jays Bed and Breakfast, Nadim’s Mediterranean Grill, Silk Deli & Bistro/Thai Place, Sláinte, and Strum’s Deli.

Wine tastings will be provided by Horizon Beverage. Local craft beer tastings will be provided by Berkshire Brewing Company, Iron Duke Brewing Company, and Lefty’s Brewing Company. A hard cider tasting station will be provided by Williams Distributing, and a vodka tasting station by V One.

The event has attracted over 250 local professionals, community leaders and advocates from Greater Holyoke and outlying communities to downtown Holyoke the past two years. Holyoke Rotary President, Venus Robinson, stated “This is a great event that brings together the community and showcases the best of Greater Holyoke. This is one of our major fundraisers for the Rotary Club and helps fund our projects throughout the year.”

Tickets are on sale now for $35 each and includes entry with unlimited tastings. Tickets can be purchased online through our website, or in person at Sláinte (80 Jarvis Ave, Holyoke) or Westfield Bank (1642 Northampton St, Holyoke). Additional details on the event, literacy project and weekly updates on new vendors and sponsors can be found on the event’s website.
