Sonido to Hold First Performance in the Garden at Wistariahurst

Thursday, August 11, at 7 p.m. Wistariahurst will host Sonido 1: In the Garden of Wistariahurst featuring Donkey No No, Sara Louise, Emmalee Hunnicutt, and MozzaleumSonido is a new series of sound and art in Holyoke, curated by Donkey No No violinist Jen Gelineau who promises that it will present “locations, style, and tonality of the series as diverse and interesting as the great community of our city.” 

The first concert will take place in the gardens of Wistariahurst. A donation of $10 is suggested at the door, in support of that night’s musicians and on-going cultural performances at Wistariahurst. A cash bar with beer and wine will be available. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs as the performance will take place on the lawn.

Sonido 1: In the Garden of Wistariahurst will feature the music of Donkey No No, Sara Louise, Emmalee Hunnicutt, and Mozzaleum. Donkey No No is a trio with guitarist Omeed Goodarzi, violin/electronics goddess Jen Gelineau, and cymbal bower Edward “Ted” Lee. Sarah Louise is a 12-string guitarist based in the mountains of North Carolina. Emmalee Hunnicutt explores the subtleties of sound with her inventive cello playing. Mozzaleumfeatures Erica Pinto on bowed saw, Adam Parker on keyboard synthesizer, and Conrad Capistran on electronics.
