Springfield Mountain: Traditional Folksongs of Massachusetts

Adam Miller will present his multi-cultural "Singing through History!" folk music program at Holyoke Public Library, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 7pm

This entertaining and interactive sing-along program introduces audiences to American folksongs and folklore. It also helps develop active listening skills and foster a lifelong love of literature, reading and listening to stories. The traditional American folksongs and folktales used in the program can be found in books that reside in the public library!

Not only does the program aid in the development of cultural and historical literacy, it emphasizes the importance of history as a story well told. People of all ages will have a great time learning about American folklore and folk traditions while singing along.

To register or for more information, please visit the Holyoke Public Library or call 413-420-8101.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Holyoke Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency and the Holyoke Public Library.
