Holyoke, MA – PassportHolyoke and its community partners invite you to join in the planning of Next Stop:Holyoke, a long weekend of art, sport, food, history, music, and culture scheduled for October 7-9, 2016. Building on last year’s success, this year’s festival will feature visual arts displays and performances, concerts, community meals, recreational activities, and historic tours – all of which highlight the diverse cultural experience that can be found in the City of Holyoke. Next Stop:Holyoke, a collaboration of Holyoke’s cultural assets, creative businesses, and venues, relies on community involvement to produce the three-day event and supports emerging cultural activities with technical assistance and other resources. “It’s important a community has a hand in what they want to experience in their own public spaces” said the City’s Creative Economy Coordinator Jeffrey C. Bianchine. “Next Stop gives Holyoke residents an opportunity to grow their ideas on how to express their unique, evolving culture.”

PassportHolyoke is calling on residents with enthusiasm and creative vision to join the conversation at Next Stop: Holyoke planning meetings, starting on Wednesday, April 13 at 5:30 pm at the Holyoke Senior Center (291 Pine St.) PassportHolyoke wishes to engage artists, performers, restaurants, businesses, schools, youth, and any community members looking to produce events during this year’s city-wide festival. Assistance with organizing the overall Next Stop:Holyoke festival is also welcome. Please join PassportHolyoke in making Next Stop: Holyoke 2016 a success!
