Winter Clothing Donations Needed

Providence Ministries Service Network, started 35 years ago by the Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, is in desperate need of warm clothing for the needy and homeless this winter. Brenda Lamagdeleine, manages two Providence Ministries programs, St. Jude’s Clothing Center and Margaret’s Food Pantry. St. Jude's Clothing Center serves fire victims, the homeless, school children, immigrants, and other disaster victims and Lamagdeleine said she gets a calls daily to respond to an urgent need. “I wish people knew how often Providence Ministries was called in an emergency,” said Lamagdeleine. “When we get a call from a school that a child has no coat, we need to be able to respond.”

Recently, area fires have depleted St. Jude's supply. There is a tremendous need for Men's, Women's and Children's winter clothing; as well as sheets, blankets, curtains, towels, pots and pans, as well as small appliances. For more specific donation information please call Brenda at 413-538-8026.

Financial contributions are always gladly accepted. Providence Ministries, P.O. Box 6269, Holyoke MA 01041
